TERRAZA GAFFORD

It all started with an underutilized rear terrace where huge quarried local rock was scattered about. Each large stone seemed to me to be a building unit, and the idea of seating around an outdoor fireplace took shape. The stones were positioned by manpower on the ground and became the central icons for a massive firebox. Working out in both directions from the stonehinge central anchor, we used conventional construction and resources to create an inviting outdoor living terrace.
